Joshua Fleming is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University, receiving his Bachelors of Music in Music Education and a Performance Certificate in Euphonium Performance. Fleming is currently the Instrumental Music Teacher at Forest Oak Middle School in Gaithersburg, MD as a part of MCPS. In addition to Fleming’s public school teaching experiences, he has performed on Euphonium, Trombone, and Baritone Horn throughout his time at Shenandoah Conservatory with the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and when he organized a British-style brass band for his Senior Recital. Fleming has subbed on trombone for the Martinsburg Jazz Orchestra, performed with the Clarke County Community Band, VA on Euphonium, and is the current Principal Baritone Horn with the Rockville Brass Band. Prior his career as an educator, Fleming led the Shenandoah University Pep Band as the Director from 2014-2016. The ensemble is a mainstay for sporting and celebratory events at Shenandoah University, as well as actively performing throughout the Winchester area. In addition to his passion for music, Fleming is an avid soccer fan. Having played soccer since he was in elementary school, Fleming is looking to obtain both a coaching license and refereeing license within the immediate future.
